Upazila Project Implementation Office is one of the most important offices in upazila level. In 1973-74, the relief department was opened at the office of the Circle Officer. Gradually its activities continued to grow. At present, there are upazila project implementation offices in all upazilas of Bangladesh. In addition, there are Project Implementation Offices at the Circle Office in the City Corporation area. Upazila Project Implementation Officer under the Ministry of Food and Disaster Management of Bangladesh Government. The office is managed by the Department of Relief and Rehabilitation. Besides, the Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officer are supervised with the program implemented. Office of the District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer at District level for direct supervision of Upazila Project Implementation Office Program.
Reducing the risks of various disasters by taking risk reduction programs, adopting an effective humanitarian aid program especially for the development of the capacities of the poor and disadvantaged people, coordination among the various programs and programs taken by the government and non-governmental organizations concerned with emergency risk reduction and emergency response. Implementation of the government guidelines and recommendations regarding disaster management and national disaster management policies and plans is one of the responsibility of Disaster Management Directorate (DDM).
Philosophy and Mission Our philosophy is to develop an active organization, knowledge-sheet, research center and disaster management professionals as a recognized center of capacity building for disaster management.

Under the Disaster Management Act - 2012, an active organization will be working - involving risk reduction in disaster management programs, reducing the risk of poor and disadvantaged people, increasing the capacity for knowledge, research and disaster management cycle by the negative impact of disaster.
Goal
To manage various disaster disciplines, DDM will be an active organization, whose work will be undertaken by the Disaster Risk Reduction Program, responding to any disaster expertise and coordinating disaster management arrangements in coordination among the organizations related to the Disaster Management and Relief Ministry.
